Information you choose to provide.
Depending on the service used, the association may receive names, email addresses, phone numbers, account usernames, authentication and security records, mailing location, membership type, relationship to the unit, troop and service association, service dates, deployment history, event RSVP details, accessibility or dietary requests, messages, photographs, stories, publication permissions, donation-related information, and optional directory choices. Account passwords are stored using WordPress password hashing and are not displayed to association administrators.
Payment-card and bank-account information entered during an online donation is processed by Givebutter and its payment providers and is not collected by this website. Loading an embedded Givebutter checkout connects your browser to Givebutter so it can provide the donation or event-payment service.
How Information Is Used
Association services and recordkeeping.
The association may use submitted information to respond to requests, evaluate membership interest, administer events and RSVPs, communicate association news, review historical or media submissions, recognize approved sponsors, support donation administration, operate member services, protect the website, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate association records.
A member city may be represented by an anonymous red dot placed at a locally cached city centroid on the Membership page world map. The map does not publish the city name, a member name, a member count, a profile, an address, or a precise personal location.
Information is not used for unrelated commercial advertising.
Access and Sharing
Limited to an appropriate purpose.
Submitted information may be accessed by authorized association representatives and technology providers who need it to operate, secure, or support the requested service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or with the submitter's permission.
Public member-directory participation is optional. Only the approved directory fields described on the Membership page are displayed; private contact information is not published.
External Services
Services with their own policies.
Givebutter processes online donations and related receipts. Other approved providers may support hosting, email delivery, authentication, security logging, event administration, or website management. Information handled directly by an external service is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy practices.
Links to external sites do not transfer information from this website unless a visitor chooses to follow the link or use the external service.
Cookies and Security

The website may use cookies or comparable browser storage for authenticated sessions, preferences, and security. Basic technical records may include date and time, requested page, browser or device information, IP address, authentication events, and security or error logs.
The association uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and Requests
Access, correction, and removal.
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the association purpose, legal or financial recordkeeping, dispute resolution, security, or historical preservation. Retention may vary by record type. Approved historical and memorial material may be preserved as part of the association record.
Individuals may request access, correction, withdrawal of optional directory consent, or deletion of information. A request may be limited when records must be retained for legal, financial, security, or archival reasons. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.
